Strategic Focus

NCOP Strategic Result Areas

Health

N-COP promotes inclusive and equitable health systems across Nairobi by strengthening access to information, services, and resources especially around Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR). The network convenes practitioners, policymakers, and community actors to advance wellness initiatives, share data, and innovate local solutions that make quality
healthcare affordable and accessible to all.

Through the Youth Employment Result Area, N-COP empowers young people aged 18–35 to unlock dignified work opportunities. Members collaborate to build market-relevant skills, foster entrepreneurship, and link youth to jobs through strategic partnerships with institutions like NITA and KNEC. The focus is on turning potential into productivity enabling Nairobi’s youth to become innovators, job creators, and community change agents.

N-COP strengthens citizen participation, transparency, and accountability in governance. By bridging grassroots communities with county and national decision-making processes, the network supports public participation forums, social audits, and open data initiatives. Members jointly advocate for responsive policies and ethical leadership that advance justice, equity, and inclusive development.

This pillar drives awareness, advocacy, and participation in climate resilience and environmental stewardship. N-COP mobilizes communities to co-create local climate solution ranging from urban greening and waste management to renewable energy innovation. The network ensures that marginalized voices are represented in climate decisions, fostering a greener, more sustainable Nairobi.

Across all its result areas, the Nairobi Community of Practice (N-COP) integrates Gender Equality, Research, and Localization as foundational values.

  • Gender Equality & Inclusivity ensures that all voices especially women, youth, and marginalized groups shape and benefit from every initiative.
  • Research & Evidence guide N-COP’s advocacy and programming, anchoring decisions in credible data and shared learning.

How we work?

Working in isolation limits organizations’ ability to address interconnected social, economic, and environmental challenges. A fragmented approach reduces opportunities for resource-sharing, cross-sector collaboration, and holistic problem-solving. By fostering collaboration, N-COP enables institutions to:

1. Leverage collective expertise and networks for greater impact.
2. Develop cross-sector partnerships to address multi-faceted challenges.
3. Create sustainable solutions through integrated, evidence-based approaches.
